I have always shied away from complicated skin care regimes and always assumed that  I was using good products.  The various 'good' moisturisers I've used have always made my face feel heavy and coated.     The Neways Skin Care Regime

    Neways Skin Care is a revolution to most new customers. The following information will help you to understand why they work so well.

    Molecular Weight

    Do you think that it is a good idea for skin care products to enter the blood stream?  Whether this happens or not depends on the ingredient's molecular weight.  The hydrogen atom has a molecular weight of 1.  Atoms with a molecular weight of  less than 3000 can enter the skin.  At less than 750 they can enter the skin cell   At less than 150 they can enter the bloodstream.  None of  the ingredients in Neways Skin, Personal Care or Hair Care Products enter the blood stream but at the same time their molecular weight allows them to be effective in the areas needed.  For example, Retention Plus contains patented cross-linked elastin which has a molecular weight of 456. In comparison, most moisturisers have such a large molecular weight that they just sit on the surface blocking the pores of the skin. For further information on ingredients click here.

    This is the Neways skin care regime in more detail:

    Week 1

    Cleanse the skin to clear the old heavy blockages and at the same time start to 're-tension' the matrix of the skin.  The cleanser shoul either be Milky Cleanser for dry, delicate or more mature skin (over 35).  This is the mildest cleanser and will gently remove make up, dirt and the impurities we face in our daily lives.  Remember to rinse 7 to 10 times with water to remove all the toxins.  Once or twice a week it is a good idea to use Extra Gentle Cleanser to gently emulsify the grease and oils present in the skin and draw out impurities.  It has deep pore action.  These cleansers work thoroughly without upsetting the delicate acid mantle of the skin.  Important if your skin is to look 'young' in later years.

    More importantly, they do not block the skin or contain propylene glycol and the body does not flood the area to try and wash away the intruder.  Therefore the skin may feel dry compared to previously.  This is a good sign and means that your skin is now improving.

    Now start to rebuild the tension of the skin by applying Snap Back or Firm Up.  This is also a marvellous neutraliser and helps to calm the skin.

    Imagine a mattress, which as it ages not only do the springs start to show signs of wear, but the surface cloth stretches and gathers in loose folds and creases.  So it is with the skin, and  are ideal to rebuild that tension.

    The 'new' cell is now just three weeks away from the surface, which is now cleaner and ready to accept that cell.

    Week 2

    The top layer of skin is now clear so proceed as Week 1 but now start to use Retention Plus.  This contains cross-linked elastin (which all wrinkled skin is low in) with a molecular size of just 456.  It will penetrate the surface and work to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkled ageing skin. Neways has found the way to stabilise the important elements desmosine and iso-desmosine in cross-linked elastin helping to reduce the effect of skin ageing.  It also contains grape seed extract, and effective anit-oxidant which helps fight free radical activity, and Vitamin A to rebuild skin.

    Always use Bio-Mist Activator, which is a water-based moisturiser, to carry the Retention Plus deep down into the skin.

    So, Week 2 is Cleanse, Retention Plus, Bio-Mist Activator and then Snap Back or Firm Up as before.  It is also a good idea to protect your skin against the elements or make up, and Barrier Cream forms an excellent non-greasy film over your skin, yet allows it to breathe naturally.

    Week 3

    Having cleansed and moisturised the top layer, it is now important to smooth the appearance of the skin and help it to retain its moisture levels.  Work as for week 2 but now add in Wrinkle Garde to the regime, mixing a few drops of it in the palm of the hand with the Bio-Mist Activator.  Containing essential fatty acids, Wrinkle Garde is like a face supplement for the skin helping to replenish and revive for a look of suppleness and beauty.  Wrinkles will gradually start to lessen and the skin will appear younger and healthier.  Neways discovered this rose hip oil based oil in a South American Burns Unit, where it was being used effectively to reduce scarring and wrinkles.  Reformulated and patented it contains Hyaluronic acid.  Abundant in infancy, this dramatically reduces with age.  It will hold around 6000 times its own weight in water and helps repair skin, enhance the depth and promote a healthy glow as well as slowing down the ageing process.

    Don't forget to include your neck area in your regime.

    Week 4

    Your new cell is now reaching the surface in Week 4.  The skin is nourished and moist, promoting a really good base for the cell to survive as a good healthy example of skin, firm, moist and smoother than before.

    Now is the time to protect the skin against the ravages of our daily environment.  Add Skin Enhancer to finish off the routine.  Just a light application of one of the finest and most complete protecting ingredients ever compounded for the skin.  It contains Super Oxide Dismutase, which intercepts and neutralises free radicals in the skin, vital for a continued youthful appearance as well as a UV protector and filter against pollutants.  Do not use with blemished or acned skin.  The new cell has now journeyed throught the clean, moist, nourished epidermis layer, and is being protected against the environment and has a good chance of surviving as long as possible in good condition.

    "Help! My skin feels really dry..."

    This is sometimes said by new users of Neways range of Skin Care products.  They may be suprised to find that it is the best news they could give.  It  means the products are working to revitalise and recondition their skin.

    Neways Skin Care stops your skin being harmed, drowned and dying so quickly, and this is what causes the dry tightness sometimes experienced  in the initial stages of its use, while healthy skin is established.

    Neways Skin Care product development is based upon good scientific research into not only safe, non carcinogenic products, but those which would work in harmony with the body instead of ageing the skin prematurely by damaging the skin cells.  The normal approach is to 'cleanse, tone and moisturise' and in most cases this means blocking the matrix of the skin and causing 'flooding' to the area.  Look at the journey a celll makes to the surface of the skin.

    It takes around four weeks for the new cell to reach the surface and during this time it loses its moisture content quite dramatically.  Starting with a moisture content of approximately 95%, this reduces to less than 1% by the time it is dead and on the surface.  The skin is 'mesh-like' and allows passage both into and out of the body provided the molecular size is small enough to pass through the mesh.

    A normal moisturiser has a molecular size too large to enter the skin and pass through the surface.  Instead it blocks the mesh and the body floods the area with water to try and flush the blockage.  Just look at your own skin when a plaster has been on it for a day or so and how pink and wet the surface is.  This is the body trying to defend itself from harm.  This flooding drowns the cell, so the next thing we are told to do is to exfoliate the dead cells and expose those just below the surface before they are really ready to deal with our environment.  The new cells wear away earlier than they should and the woman uses  a skin care preparation, the earlier her skin ages.  Neways works in a different way.

    Neways decided that to really make a difference, the next two or three weeks' growth of cells would have to be sacrificed in order to bring a long-term solution to the problem.  They set out to try and stop just 1% of the moisture loss and keep the new surface cell at 2% water -- in other words twice as moist as before.

    Recommendations for dealing with particular skin problems

    Very Sensitive or Allergenic Skin

    Cleanse with Milky Cleanser and moisturize with Rebound.  Do not add anything else until the skin has normalised and you feel ready to add the other products.  In addition to being a phenomenal after-sun lotion Rebound is an excellent moisturizer for sensitive or  mature skin .  It is excellent used in harsh environments or just any time for more moisture.

    Eczema/Dermatitis

    Eczema is a chronic itchy, inflammatory ski condition in which the skin is very dry.  It may be reddened, weepy and scaly.
    There are many possible causes including extreme sensitivity to particular irritants such as detergents, soap and toxins such as fluoride (see Booklist - George Waldbott, Fluoridation the Great Dilemma) .  If food allergies such as sensitivity to cow's milk or wheat, play a part, there may be outward signs such as dark circles under the eyes and chronic fatigue.  A common sense approach is to change to Neways products which do not irritate, coat or add to the toxic load, and to boost the nutritional status by additional measurable nutrients such as those in Maximol and herbal immune system booster such as those in VMM.

    Neways products have been found to be helpful  for many people with these problems and also in hair salons where dermatitis from frequent exposure to regular shampoo is often considered an occupational hazard.  The recommended regime follows below:

    Externally

    1. Refresh Shower Gel 50% diluted -- apply with sponge or flannel. Rinse with clear water and gently dry with a towel.
    2. Spray affected areas with Eliminator.  Allow to dry naturally.
    3. If necessary, apply Wrinkle Garde sparingly on areas where itching and subsequent scratching has occurred.  (NB Not to be used on broken skin).
    4. Second Chance Conditioner gently applied to the affected areas may prove beneficial.
    5. Rebound may then be applied, as it is an extremely effective moisturiser.
    N.B. This regime is a recommendation only.

    It may not be necessary to use all the products mentioned, as the desired effect may be achieved by using your own combination of the above.

    Teenage Problem Skin, Blemishes/Acne Treatment

    Most teenage acne starts for reasons over which the person affected has little control - hormonal changes - it seems so unfair that such a wonderful phase of life can be spoilt by having lumpy skin.  However there is a great deal that can be done to eliminate or control it.

    What is acne?

    There are many varieties of acne but they are all manifestations of the same disorder -- over-production of oil and grease (sebaceous material).  Most dermatologists think that this unnatural oil secretion is the result of an excessive amount of certain hormones which are produced during adolescence.  Pimples generally occur anywhere on the face, chest, back or a combination of these sites.
    Each of the thousands of hair follicles have sebaceous glands which are designed to produce oil to lubricate the skin.  Teenage hormones alter the normal oil production of the sebaceous gland.  The result is a heavy sludgy oil which oozes into the hair follicle which results in it being plugged.  This is the sebum plug.  It is the ideal food supply for the bacteria associated with acne.  Once the bacteria begins to feed upon the plug and multiply, the body's defence system rushes white corpuscles to the infected area.  The dead corpuscles are easily recognised as pus. Whiteheads are small firm nodules.  When a whitehead erupts it becomes an inflamed lesion.  The large red inflammatory acne lesion is known as a nodule.  If they become infected with bacteria they become inflamed and contain pus.  Blackheads have a black appearance because of the skin pigment called melanin, not dirt.  Blackheads are long-lasting and generally do not become inflamed. Acne is often made worse by squeezing and popping the spots as this may force the oil and bacteria deeper into the skin layers, causing cysts and scarring.
    Stress, tension and the menstrual cycle may induce acne flare-ups. Many people think that fatty foods, fizzy drinks or chocolate make acne worse, but opinion is divided on this.

    Acne in Women

    In women past the teenage years, a break-out of acne is often linked to hormonal imbalances at period times or in relation to taking the Pill .  Excessively greasy or irritating cosmetics can aggravate matters. Apart from the suggestions below, consider the balancing qualities of Subvene cream containing agnus castus and wild yam.

    Treatment for Acne

    There are two principle methods for acne treatent.  The first focuses on killing the harmful bacteria.  Most of the time the patient must be under a doctor's care because of the potency and potential side effects and damage of the products used.

    The second treatment focuses on eliminating the food supply which the harmful bacteria feed upon.  Research and development scientists reason that if the bacteria has nothing to feed on then there will be no bacterial infection, hence, no acne.  Since harmful bacteria feed upon the sebum plug, this treatment is designed to clean the plug from the hair follicle.  There are a lot of these treatments around available from the chemist.

    Improving severe acne with boils take time and an all round approach working from the inside out. Avoid fatty and sugary foods, constipation and dehydration! Avoid animal fats and artificial sweeteners, drink water.  Scrutinise the skin products you are using.  Some mainstream products are very harsh and excessively drying.  Acned skin is very sensitive. Ask me for more information, amongst other things I might suggest are taking supplementary nutrients such as Maximol, Revenol and Feeling Good, (from the Neways nutritional range) as well as possibly acidophilus and relaxation.

    Neways Acne Treatment

    This acne treatment includes four different products: a Cleanser (Extra Gentle Cleanser), a Sterilising Agent (Eliminator) and a Conditioner (Imperfection Lotion) and a Moisturiser (Bio-Mist Activator). The Cleanser emulsifies and dissolves oils while gently releasing dead skin cells.  The Sterilising Agent is an anti-bacterial solution.  The Conditioner removes imbedded soils, cleanses the pores and soothes the skin.  The Moisturiser replenishes the skin in a light, non-greasy way.  Only small amounts of the products are needed.

    Directions

    1. Cleanse with Extra Gentle Cleanser once or twice a day or if the skin is extremely greasy with 1st Impressions  If it is extremely greasy use 1st Impressions once a day, as it becomes less greasy change to Extra Gentle.  Follow the instructions on the bottle.
    2. Spray the face with or apply on a damp pad, gently wiping over the acne and allow to dry.
    3. Apply Imperfection Lotion to affected areas saturating a bit of cotton wool or cotton bud and applying to blemish only.  Dab on and allow to dry.
    4. Spray on Bio-Mist Activator. (Retention Plus may be useful to help speed up new cells rising to the surface).


    Maximol, Revenol, Omega 3 EPA, VMM and Cassie Tea may also be included in this routine.

    Suggested Essential Oils for Adolescent Acne
    Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), an oil derived from an Australian shrub which has  antibacterial and antiviral effects, is also useful.  Apply it on the skin to pus-containing areas (wounds as well as acne spots).  It is powerful so treat it with respect either neat in tiny amounts or if that seems too strong, dilute with a  little olive or other carrier oil. Tea Tree Oil  is available in the range of Neways pure essential oils.

    Make a facial mist with Orange, Tea Tree and Peppermint Oils, add 5 drops of each oil to 50ml of Bio-Mist and use daily.
